| What is
MandoMorphosis? |
|
It's a creative collaboration of seven mandolin players from around North America who have joined forces on a new CD to explore the boundaries of new acoustic music. This
highly original record takes many twists and turns,
ranging from high-energy tunes with traditional roots, to free-wheeling
jams,
to fresh arrangements of classical works, to spontaneous group
improvisations. While the music is mandocentric,
you'll also hear lots of dobro, violin, and guitar,
as most group members play two or three instruments. MandoMorphosis' core
players are based in Western Washington state (see performance
schedule). Read Hank Davis' interview of MandoMorphosis in Victory Review Magazine (Feb. 2010 issue). Hear a podcast of an on-air interview with Matt, Michael and Scott on KBCS-FM (Jan. 15, 2010). Need more? Click on a name or scroll down... Matt Orville Pete David Scott Michael Adam
